Gibson Pick-Ups are Used by me, Why?

For decades or years, I have played electric guitar in bands in bars, colleges, concerts, and recording sessions however I could not let you know exactly what pick-ups (p/u’s) were all about. I mean I did not have a clue about what a pickup did what. I grew up at a Gibson household. I would suggest if I played with the guitar that my relatives once they did not ridicule me stated, it was a Gibson. I just had a clue regarding the Gibson of humbucker kind pick-up. Oh yeah, it’s little brother the P-90.
