Austria – Vienna, Salzburg, Halstatt and Sound of Music

Austria just can not be defeated when it comes to attractiveness.

Vienna

Vienna is a town with a ridiculous quantity of history. The house of the waltz, Habsburg Palaces, along with an unrivaled musical ago. Walk for a day throughout the cobblestone streets in the middle town and you can practically hear a famed composer at work. Actually, many of those walking areas are lined with small orchestral ensembles playing their way throughout the day. The sole drawback to Vienna is your cost. It’s extremely costly. If you’re likely to devote some time to the town, get prepared to pay for the privilege.

Salzburg

Salzburg is one of my favorite cities and I attempt to hit on it when I’m traveling through Europe. Regrettably, it provides Vienna a run for the money when it comes to becoming pricey.

Halstatt

Halstatt is the tiny city in the Alps that places the Sound of Music to pity. Located roughly one hour out of Salzburg, the simplest way to reach it’s by train. The train travels well into the Alps and drops you off from the side of a lake. You plop down into a tiny hut and await the ferry out of Halstatt to look. The ferry then halls you round the lake into an Alpine city with no cars — Halstatt. Folks are friendly, prices are fair and love is on the hoof. Swans swim across the outdoor cafes dotting the lake and also, well, it’s pretty dang nice. If you’re seeking a little love, Halstatt is definitely worth your consideration.

For most travelers, Austria gets scraped off the”must-see” list as it’s really pricey. Nevertheless, you should attempt and see it at least one time in your lifetime to take in the grandeur.
